I'm all for this idea, but there will be a huge advantage to those who have an abundant knowledge in redstone.

i dont think there should be different tiers.. there is nothing in the game stopping people from using redstone and learning how to use it. that would be like doing different tiers on building comps just cause someone is older and a more experienced builder. i say this is good motivation for those people that dont know much about redstone to start learning

Excellent, so we'd have:

Elevators,
Lighting systems,
"Hidden" door systems (with pistons)
Combination locks

Anything else?


As for the plots themselves, I was going to suggest using 30x30 and stacking the builds if need be.

I'm not sure if piston staircases are included in "Hidden" door systems, if not than that's my suggestion. Also I can donate 2 diamond blocks for the pot, if they're still wanted

Well fista what i mean is like a person who got minecraft a week ago and has a slight grip on redstone mechanics going against refine. Its not goin well for the new person. But in areas as building most people know all the blocks even if new and they can use their own creative touch for it

We should implement this contest after x-mas & new years. I can contribute to the "pot" for the winners, but I sure won't be one!

What about showcasing simple stuff? I've "been around the block" (no pun intended) with Minecraft and I still don't know the ins and outs of redstone. Even with simple doors & pressure plates. Possibly have a category for "Most Useful". I mean a redstone clock/timer won't do me any good, but if you were to build a simple, small setup for an automatic door, that would be great!
